IMSSA 96th AGM in conjunction with the AfricaGEO2018 Conference & Exhibition
To be held at Emperors Palace Convention Centre, Kempton Park, Gauteng

Introduction:
This year’s annual general meeting, the 96th AGM of the Institute of Mine Surveyors of Southern Africa, will be held in conjunction with the AfricaGEO2018 Conference & Exhibition at the Emperors Palace Convention Centre, on Tuesday morning the 18th September 2018.
The AGM meeting will be concluded with a finger lunch and members are welcome to visit the Exhibition Area and to attend the Networking Function in the Exhibition Hall, at 17:45.
Members are entitled to attend the Toolshed Talk in the exhibition area and any outside Demonstrations taking place on the 18th.
Attending the AGM will award you 1 CPD Point.
Members are encouraged to attend the AfricaGeo2018 Conference & Exhibition, which has been awarded 3 CPD points in total.
The AfricaGEO2018 Conference & Exhibition aims at facilitating interaction, discussion, collaboration and capacity building amongst the participants. It will provide a platform to share the latest developments in the industry of surveying and geo-information (including remote sensing and aerial imagery). The conference will also promote and showcase the latest products and services the industry has to offer.
The conference emphasises the development of Geomatics (as an industry / technology) in the African context. This implies technological and social advancement of the industry to suit the needs of Africa and bolster development that is appropriate to Africa. The range of topics covered in the conference will include Surveying, Remote Sensing, Geo-Information Science (GISc) and Development Planning and Land Tenure.
This conference will attract top decision makers from government and private sector to prospective users, academics, vendors, policy makers and representatives of various national and international organizations working in the arena of the Geomatics industry and technology in Africa.
A series of plenary and parallel technical sessions as well as panel discussions is scheduled throughout the three day conference. The official language of the conference will be English.
AfricaGEO Conference and Exhibition builds on the proud tradition of the Conference of Southern African Surveyors (CONSAS), a conference that first started in 1961.
Format of the AGM:
The annual general meeting will take the format of a morning event, where Mr Ebrahim Ramzan will deliver the Annual Presidential Report. In addition the performance of the outgoing Council and its committees will be discussed, and new Council members elected.
The agenda of the annual general meeting and the nomination form for Council members for 2018/2019 year, will be sent in due course.

The AGM will cost R 650.00 p/p (to cover costs of catering) and includes the Networking Function.

IMSSA AGM 2018 – Delegate Registration
IMSSA is VAT exempt.
It is imperative that all attendees pay either prior to the event or on the day of registration.
No exceptions will be made.
Proof of payment must be submitted to the IMSSA Administrator by no later than the 31st August 2018.
In the event of a cancellation of your booking, cancellations need to be done in writing and communicated by no later than the 31st August 2018. Delegates remain liable for payment should they not attend, or if cancellations have not been submitted by the abovementioned date.
